My family and I really love this place! Animals come here to heal and we get to say hi and feed them in the process- a win-win! All of the animals are so sweet and in our experience quite gentle, including the adorable new addition- Carl the Llama ! Go and definitely recommend upgrading to a larger feed cup for at least one family member. Additionally you get a free upgrade for seniors and vets! Feeding the birds was also an unforgettable experience but don’t recommend it for children under 8 unless they are naturally fearless just given the talons can be a bit scratchy/uncomfortable and they come in droves to feed.

The best small Interactive animal experience for the littles. My two boys loved seeing kangaroos, chickens, and baby cows in the middle of the mall. It wasn't too expensive for the entry fee, and the animals all look well taken care of. The zookeepers/ caretakers of these animals are knowledgeable and know the animals habits, schedules and are considerate of getting them the attention they need. It makes us feel good about supporting this business. We will definitely be back.

We had the most amazing time at Sustainable Safari in Burnsville. I was impressed at the cleanliness and how many things they had for animal enrichment. The animals looked happy and well cared for. My daughter got hold a baby kangaroo, which was a highlight. The staff is very knowledgeable and educated us about every animal. We also loved being in with the birds. Would highly recommend for kids (and adults) of all ages.

Absolutely loved it. Staff is very knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. We fed the birds, goats, cows, something else (I can't remember what it's called). They have a nice variety of animals, which I don't know if they have at the Minnesota Zoo. Great opportunity for quality time with family. Purchased discount tickets on Groupon.

I definitely had a stereotype for shopping mall zoos or aquariums (cp SeaQuest), and Sustainable Safari definitely bucked that trend.
The staff obviously care about the animals and are excited to be there, and the animals seem happy and generally at-ease. The animal enclosures seemed large enough that their occupants could move around.
Each ticket comes with a small cup of feed, which I appreciated. I never spring for the paid animal feed, but my daughter had so much fun feeding the goats that I may reconsider when we come back here.
We didn’t do any animal encounters, as my 1 year old was already so excited to see and pet the many animals.
Highly recommend!

Lots of fun with the kids! Quiet, chill space, goats to feed, lots of different animals to check out. Very interactive! We paid extra for capybara experience which was fun, but in our opinion not worth almost double the ticket price per person. Would def go back.

I had so much fun here! Upon admission, you get a cup of food to feed the animals. You can also buy an experience with select animals whenever you’d like. I got admission + capybara experience for 2 people on Groupon for only $35, so definitely check that out for deals beforehand!
The staff is super friendly and willing to show you around the zoo/share facts about the animals. Some of the animals that you can feed are the goats, kangaroos (but they are nocturnal), capybaras, cows, bunnies, gazelle.
They also have birds (parakeets), lizards, snakes, frogs, sugar glider, sloth, fox, lemur, turtle.
